Official healthcare regulators
We recruit into a focused set of professions. If yours is not one of them, we would rather send you straight to the body that registers you than keep you reading our guidance.
Where this comes from
Ethicare is a specialist recruiter. We recruit into medical imaging and radiation, medicine, allied health, mental health and theatre — and the depth of what we know about those professions is the reason people work with us.
For everything else, we are not the right source. Registration rules change often, and second-hand guidance from a recruiter who does not place your profession is worse than no guidance at all. So here is the official regulator, with a link to it.
You will not find processing times, document checklists or eligibility assessments here. Those belong to the regulator.

New Zealand regulates its health professions through independent responsible authorities under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act. The Ministry of Health keeps the complete list. See every responsible authority →
Australia
Professions we do not currently recruitAustralia is where our offering is newest. We currently recruit medical imaging, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine and radiology into Australia — and nothing else yet. Several professions below are ones we do place in New Zealand, which is why they appear here rather than in our profession guides.

Australia regulates most health professions nationally through Ahpra and its profession boards. Ahpra publishes one place to start for anyone qualified overseas. Ahpra for international practitioners →
Some professions are not in the national scheme at all. Dietetics, social work and speech pathology have no Ahpra board, so searching the register for them returns nothing. That is not a sign you cannot work — it means registration is not the gate. Your qualification is assessed by your employer and your own professional body instead, and a separate skills assessment applies for the visa. Sonography is regulated differently again, through the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry →
This is the reverse of New Zealand, where each of those professions does have its own registering council. Do not assume the two countries work the same way in either direction — in both cases the body above is the authority, not us.
