Equality, diversity and inclusion
Almost everyone we work with is moving countries to practise. Fairness is not a side policy for us — it is the job.
Last updated 23 August 2026Where we stand
Every clinician we place is an internationally qualified professional entering a system that was not designed around them. The bias they meet is rarely dramatic. It is a qualification read as lesser because of where it was earned, an accent treated as a competence question, a name that gets fewer callbacks.

We are a small company and we are not going to pretend to a machinery of policies we do not yet have. What follows is what we hold ourselves to, and at the end, what we have not built yet.
What we hold ourselves to
- Assessment against the role, not against a norm. A qualification earned in Manila, Lagos or Chennai is assessed on what it contains. Where a regulator has a formal comparability process, that process is the authority, not our impression.
- No candidate ever pays us. Fee-charging falls hardest on clinicians from lower-income countries. We are paid by employers, always.
- An honest no. If we cannot help someone, we say so at the first opportunity and point them to the body that can. Keeping people hopeful on a list is a cost they pay, not us.
- The same information to everyone. Indicative pay, the agreement it sits under, and what the work is really like are published openly rather than shared with whoever thinks to ask.
- No discrimination in who we represent on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation — the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 — nor on caste, nationality or where someone trained.
- Family circumstances do not count against you. We ask who is moving with you because it changes the practical advice, never because it changes whether we will represent you.
Adjustments
If any part of how we work is difficult for you, the forms, the calls, the timings, the written English — tell us and we will change how we do it. You do not need a diagnosis, a letter, or a reason.
That includes taking information by phone instead of by form, allowing more time, communicating in writing instead of by call, or scheduling around a time zone, a prayer time, a caring responsibility or a shift pattern.
What we ask of employers
We do not control hiring decisions, employers do, and they should. What we control is who we are willing to work for.
We expect the healthcare employers we recruit for to select on merit, to make reasonable adjustments through their own process, and to treat an internationally qualified clinician as a colleague rather than a gap-filler. Where we see a pattern that contradicts that, we raise it. If it does not change, we stop working with them.
Language and qualifications
English-language testing is a regulatory requirement in both countries and we cannot waive it. What we can do is be straight about it: the threshold is set by the regulator, it is published, and it is the same for everyone in that profession. It is not a judgement we make about you.
The same applies to qualification assessment. Where a regulator requires an individual assessment rather than offering a streamlined route, that is a feature of the system, not a verdict on your training — and we say so plainly in every profession guide and in the registration pathway checker.
What we are still building
We would rather publish this than imply a maturity we have not reached.
We do not yet monitor diversity data across the candidates we represent and place, which means we cannot currently prove where we are losing people. We do not yet run formal EDI training, and we do not operate anonymised shortlisting. These are the things a larger recruiter would have, and as we grow they are what we intend to add first, monitoring before anything else, because without it every other claim on this page is a matter of trust rather than evidence.
If you are an employer assessing us against a framework and need something specific, ask. We will tell you what we do and do not have.
If we get it wrong
Tell us. Email hello@ethicareresourcing.com or call +44 20 4626 6580, and it reaches a person rather than a queue.
We would rather hear it directly and fix it. Raising something never affects how we represent you, and you can ask for it to be handled by someone other than the person you have been dealing with.
Any questions about this?
We reply to every message personally.
