Read what the film shows
- “I’m a UK radiographer — can I work in Australia?” Three things to line up: registration, a visa and a state licence, and the regulators make the decisions. It points to the MRPBA registration guide and radiography in Australia.
- “What about schools for my two children?” Schools are run state by state, so where you live shapes the answer. It points to schools in Australia and moving to Australia with your family.
- “We want a more relaxed life near the coast.” The “Where could we live?” finder suggests places that fit. It points to the finder and the Australian destination guides.
- “How much would the move cost?” There’s no single figure, but it can be planned: visas, flights, then a bond and rent before your first pay. It points to the cost calculator and what to check before you accept an offer.
- “Can you help me plan my move?” Yes, and early on nothing needs deciding yet. It points to My Move and the Pathway Navigator.
It ends: already applied directly, or through another agency? You can still use all of this, free.

Someone askedI’m a dietitian in the UK. Can I just apply for jobs in New Zealand?
Not quite — and the order matters more here than in most professions.
Dietetics is a registered profession in New Zealand, so you register with the Dietitians Board before you can practise. Three things gate every route: at least four years of nutrition and dietetic training, the Board’s English language requirement, and at least 12 months practising as a dietitian averaging 20 hours a week within the last three years.
The part that reorders the whole move: all four overseas routes end in provisional registration followed by twelve months of supervised practice — and provisional registration needs an employer who supports it. So the job and the registration interlock rather than running one after the other. Registered in the UK, you’d come through the Straight to Registration pathway.

A real answer, shortened. Every reply ends with somewhere to go next — and says when a person would be better than a page.
What it’s good at, and what it won’t decide
Worth asking
- Which registration route applies to your profession, and the order the steps come in
- What a salary figure means once tax, super or KiwiSaver and the cost of living are in it
- Which city or region fits the life you’re describing
- What a partner or your children can do on the visa you’d be on
- Which of our guides answers the thing you’re stuck on — there are several hundred pages here
- How the two countries differ on a specific point, rather than in general
Not its job
- Telling you that you will be registered, or that a visa will be granted. Regulators and immigration authorities decide that, and only they can
- Quoting the pay for a specific vacancy
- Immigration advice, legal advice or financial advice
- Anything that turns on your own documents — the regulator or immigration authority assesses those
- Guaranteeing a requirement won’t change. They do change, which is why it sends you to the official source
