Radiation Therapist — Palmerston North

About the role

You’ll join the welcoming team of a regional cancer treatment service: the non-surgical cancer treatment provider for the central North Island, serving around 580,000 people across a wide region. The service has recently grown into a multi-campus model with a new outreach site, with further regional expansion planned, so there’s real scope to be part of service development, outreach and innovation over time.

It’s home to one of New Zealand’s newest linear accelerator fleets (Varian TrueBeam) and a modern planning system (RayStation), with a strong culture of patient-centred care. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists trained both in New Zealand and overseas: a supportive environment for international clinicians moving into the NZ system.

What the role involves

• Delivering high-quality radiation therapy to a diverse regional population
• Working with a Varian TrueBeam linac fleet and RayStation planning
• Outreach work and the option to travel across the region
• Involvement in service development and innovation as the service expands

About you

• Registered as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of New Zealand, or eligible to register
• Hold, or able to obtain, a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Excellent communication skills and cultural competence
• Proactive about your own development and supporting others
• Flexible and willing to work across multiple locations when required
