Consultant Radiologist, Body Imaging — Hamilton
Ethicare is recruiting a Consultant Radiologist with a body imaging interest in Hamilton. It is a role for someone who wants complex abdominal and pelvic work at the centre of a large tertiary department, with general and acute reporting around it rather than instead of it.
About the role
You would join the radiology department of a tertiary teaching hospital and major trauma centre serving one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing regions — a high-volume service, well over 200,000 examinations a year, with a strong emphasis on emergency, trauma and oncology imaging.
The body imaging work is the reason the post exists: complex cases in hepatobiliary and pancreas, urology, gynaecology and gastrointestinal disease, reported alongside the oncology multidisciplinary meetings that depend on them. Registrars rotate through the department and teaching is expected, not optional.
What the role involves
- Reporting complex body imaging — hepatobiliary and pancreas, urology, gynaecology, gastrointestinal
- Interpreting and reporting CT, ultrasound, X-ray and MRI across a general and acute caseload
- CT colonography and male and female pelvic MRI
- Participating in oncology multidisciplinary meetings
- Supervising and teaching registrars
About you
- Experience in abdominal radiology, CT colonography and pelvic MRI
- A subspecialty fellowship in body imaging, or a clear interest in it
- O&G imaging experience is welcome but not required
- Eligible for vocational registration in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
