Psychologist, Rehabilitation — Auckland
Ethicare is recruiting Clinical and Health Psychologists in Auckland. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist adult and older-adult rehabilitation service, supporting people through life-changing health events.
About the role
You’ll join a small, supportive team of psychologists providing psychological support for adult and older-adult in-patient rehabilitation, alongside outpatient assessment and treatment for stroke patients in the community. You’ll work as part of a wider interdisciplinary team caring for people following events such as stroke, amputation, head injury, and complex orthopaedic, neurological and spinal-cord impairment.
The role blends direct clinical work with consultation to the interdisciplinary team, support for patients’ significant others, and real opportunities to contribute to service development, staff training and — if trained — neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation. Training or experience in neuropsychology is an advantage but not essential.
What the role involves
- Psychological assessment and intervention to enhance coping and adjustment
- Support with behavioural-management difficulties and cognitive assessment
- Consultation to the interdisciplinary team and to patients’ families
- Contributing to service development, staff consultation and training
About you
- Eligible to register, or registered, with the NZ Psychologists Board as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Neuropsychologist
- A current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZPB
- At least one year of practical experience
- A full driver’s licence
