Consultant Interventional Radiologist — Dunedin
Ethicare is recruiting a Consultant Interventional Radiologist in Dunedin. This is an opening for an interventional radiologist to join a close, collegial team of ten and take on a broad range of vascular and non-vascular work.
About the role
You’ll join a radiology service of around ten (general radiologists and four other interventional radiologists) providing imaging to roughly 310,000 people across the lower South Island, with predominantly emergency and inpatient work. A full range of modalities runs on a digital RIS/PACS: MRI, interventional, CT and ultrasound (mammography is not provided).
It’s a relaxed, informal, first-name team that works as a strong MDT, with the close collegial relationships you only get in a smaller hospital. You’ll often hear how your patients got on after they left your care.
What the role involves
- A wide range of techniques: peripheral vascular, biliary drainage and embolisation, nephrostomy insertion, trauma embolisation, tunnelled IV access and fistula intervention
- EVAR/TEVAR procedures, with the opportunity to be involved if you wish
- Contributing to the general radiology component and the out-of-hours roster
- Supporting service and quality initiatives, and teaching junior staff
About you
- FRANZCR (or equivalent), eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- A subspecialty in interventional radiology, able to join the vascular interventional daytime and on-call roster (general call optional)
- An outstanding team player, enthusiastic about teaching
- International candidates are warmly encouraged to apply
