Consultant Radiologist — Queenstown
Ethicare is recruiting a Consultant Radiologist in Queenstown. This is an opening for a general radiologist to be the on-site lead at a growing district hospital in the Southern Lakes.
About the role
A growing Queenstown Lakes site is establishing an on-site consultant radiologist. The district hospital includes general medical and maternity beds, an emergency department and an on-site radiology unit with a CT scanner; urgent cases are transferred to larger centres by road or helicopter, working closely with rescue and retrieval services.
As the sole radiologist on-site you’ll work closely with the ED and radiology staff, well supported by the regional teams. There’s scope to regularly work at a nearby centre for fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI reporting and US/CT-guided procedures, and to share in a 1:4 on-call roster across the wider district. Part-time and flexible arrangements would be considered.
What the role involves
- Triaging, protocolling and reporting CT and X-ray studies on-site
- Working closely with the emergency department
- Regional fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI and image-guided procedures at a nearby centre
- Sharing a 1:4 on-call roster across the district
About you
- FRANZCR (or equivalent), eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- A general scope of radiology skills and the confidence to work independently on-site
- A strong team player who fosters a positive experience for patients and colleagues
- International candidates would initially be based at a nearby centre for a period of MCNZ-determined supervision
